Arlington's King Signs to Play for
Dakota State Trojan Men's Basketball

- Dakota State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Wade Kooiman
would like to announce the signing of Aaron King, senior from
Arlington High School in Arlington, SD.
King
had received numerous athletics honors while at Arlington High
School. In basketball, he was named to third team
All-State, two-time Most Valuable Player, Dakota Valley
Conference Most Valuable Player, Southeast Area All-Team,
Brookings All-Register Team, and two-time All-Conference.
King was a member of the 3-Class Shoot-Out All-Star Team and
surpassed his 1000th career point milestone in his junior year.
He was a two-year starter at guard where he helped Arlington's
8th place at the State "B" Basketball Tournament this past
spring, and was a member of 2006 State "B" Basketball Champions
and 2005 State "A" 5th Place team. He was selected as
co-captain in his junior and senior years.
King also lettered in football as he was honored as All-State
Honorable Mention and All-Conference. In addition, he
lettered in track and golf as he was a state qualifier in golf.
He was listed as Academic All-State in basketball and football.
King was listed as "A" Honor Roll for four years and a member of
the National Honor Society. He is an Honor Student for
Arlington High School and was the homecoming candidate. He
also received the President's Award for Outstanding Educational
Excellence. King was involved in numerous community and
volunteer programs such as teaching, Junior Cardinal's Program
Co-Coordinator, National Honor Society Blood Drive, and
volunteer coach.
Aaron is the son of Ron and Jolene of Arlington, SD. Aaron
plans to major in Elementary Education at Dakota State
University.
