Trojan Men's Basketball

March 31, 2008

(Madison, SD) - Dakota State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Wade Kooiman would like to announce the signings of Gunner Krogman and Brice Christensen to play for Trojan Men's Basketball program.

Krogman comes from Todd County High School where he was three time Big Dakota All-Conference and West River All-Conference.  He was also named to Lakota Nation All-Tournament Team twice.  Krogman recorded a triple-double in a game and surpassed 1,000th career point during his senior year.  He averaged 15.6 points per game and 7.0 rebounds with 4.1 assists and 3.2 steals for Todd County.

"I am excited to be coaching a West River athlete of this caliber," said Kooiman.  "Gunner has great awareness and high basketball I.Q.  I anticipated him having success both academically as well as athletically during his time at Dakota State."

In 2006, he was a member of the North American Indigenous Games.  Gunner is the son of Stanley Krogman and Namoni Two Hawk of Mission, SD.

Christensen, a senior from Deuel High School, averaged 10 points per game, six rebounds, and six assists.  He was named to the Best Free Throw Percentage in the Lake Central Conference and led the team to a 16-5 overall record, including District Championship runner-up honor.  Christensen earned All-Conference, Team Co-Captain, and Academic All-State honors at Deuel High School.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and also lettered in football and golf.

"Brice is a solid addition to our freshman class,"  stated Kooiman.  "His size allows him to play different positions on both sides of the ball.  I am excited at the potential he possesses!"

Brice is the son of Dean and Shirlyn Christensen of Clear Lake, SD.
