Trojan Baseball is Sixth in the Latest NAIA Region III Baseball Ratings

(Madison, SD) - The Trojan Baseball team is sixth in the latest NAIA Region III Baseball Ratings released Monday, April 21, 2008 (today). Dakota State (18-14, 7-6 DAC) went 4-4 during the week including wins in a conference doubleheader sweep over Jamestown, Doane, and Mayville State. The Trojans return home to Flynn Field for the final week of the regular season as they will take on current NAIA Region III leader Northwestern (IA) in a single nine inning game Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. On the final weekend of the DAC Conference play, the Trojans will host Valley City State in a four game weekend series, starting at 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The DAC Postseason Tournament will begin on May 1, 2008 at Valley City, ND.

Northwestern (IA) is first with 22-10 overall record and 15-3 in conference play. Jamestown dropped to second with 23-10 record, 9-5 in conference and will play current third place Mayville State (15-19-1, 9-5-1 DAC) in the final DAC Conference weekend. Briar Cliff (15-19, 14-6 GPAC) is fourth and Morningside moved in the top six with a 20-12 overall record and 12-8 in conference.
