(Madison, SD) – Dakota State University opened up their outdoor track and field season at the Vance Butler/Augustana College Invitational at Howard Wood Field.  With winds gusting to 40 miles per hour, the runners faced not ideal conditions.

Laura Tewes, last year’s NAIA All-American in high jump, placed first in the high jump with a school record and NAIA National Qualifying Jump of 5’8 ¾”.  Tewes has the best jump in the NAIA.  Other Trojan women performances at Vance Butler/Augustana College Invitational:
