- Last Friday and Saturday, the Trojan Men's and Women's
Indoor Track and Field teams traveled to Spearfish, SD to
compete in the DAC Conference Championship Meet, hosted by
Black Hills State University.
The Black Hills
State women's defended its DAC Conference team title with
286.5 points. Dickinson State placed second followed
by Jamestown, Dakota State, Minot State and South Dakota
School of Mines.
Here are the
following highlights at the DAC Conference Championship Meet
for the Trojan women's team:

Brandi Gau - 6th place in 400 meter run - 62.70

Kari Schaefer - 3rd place in 800 meter run - 2:25.88

Clarice Bauer - 4th place in 3000 meter run - 11:33.03

Suzanne Swett - 5th place in 3000 meter run - 11:50.95

Kim Streyle - 5th place in 55 meter hurdles - 9.54

Margie Anthony - 4th place in triple jump - 34' 4 3/4"

Janelle Stickler - 2nd place in pole vault - 10'10"

Kelsey Vanden Hoek - 5th place in high jump - 4'11"

Katie Gylfe - 6th place in weight throw - 42'6" - DSU

4 x 200 meter relay team (Gau, April Peterson, Streyle,
Anthony) - 4th place - 1:52.84

4 x 400 meter relay team (Gau, Schaefer, Peterson, Leigh
Hollenbeck) - 5th place - 4:25.50

4 x 800 meter relay team (Hollenbeck, Samantha Warnke,
Carissa Holtrop, Bauer) - 4th place - 11:12.04
On
the men's side, Dickinson State repeated as DAC Conference
Champions as they recorded 238 points. Black Hills
State finished second followed by Jamestown, Minot State,
Dakota State, and South Dakota School of Mines.

The
next meet is the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National
Championships on March 6th-8th. The qualifiers that
will compete at the NAIA Nationals are Bobbi Jo Dykstra (60
meter hurdles), Janelle Stickler (pole vault), Eric Bauder
(high jump), Chris Heezen (5000 meter run), Anthony Drealan
(1 mile run), Lee Irvine (800 meter run), and Tyler Van
Peursem (800 meter run). The NAIA Nationals will be
held in Johnson City, TN.
