Men's 4 x 400 Relay Team -
1st Place at the Meet for the second straight
week

The Trojan Men's & Women's Indoor Track
and Field team competed in the Wayne State Invitational last
Saturday, February 9th, in Wayne, NE. Another Trojan
male qualified to NAIA National Indoor Track and Field
Championship, Dykstra lowered her fastest time in women's 55
meter hurdles and four first place finishers at the meet
highlight Trojans' performances at Wayne State Invitational.
Eric Bauder qualified to the NAIA Nationals in men's high
jump. At the Wayne State Invitational, he recorded a
height of 6 fee and 6 inches and finished in first place.
Eric is the son of Randy and Kay Bauder of Huron, SD, and is
a junior majoring in Physical Education at Dakota State
University.
Bobby Jo Dykstra lowered her national qualifying time in
women's 55 meter hurdles to 8.35 seconds, making her the
second fastest runner in the NAIA. She finished third
at the meet as she set a new DSU school record, which she
ran with a time of 8.41 seconds on February 2nd, 2008 a the
Dordt Invitational. Bobbi is the daughter of Brian and
Linda Dykstra of Marion, SD, and is a senior majoring in
Exercise Science at DSU.
Lee Irvine set a new Wayne State Invitational meet record in
the men's 800 meter run. He finished first place with
a time of 1:59.27. Lee is the son of Frank and Ann
Irvine of Lander, WY and is a freshman at Dakota State
University.
Tyler Van Peursem crossed the finish line in first place in
the men's 600 meter run. He beat the Wayne State
Invitational meet record holder Ben Jansen of Wayne State
with the time of 1:23.92. Tyler is the son of Kevin
and Shelly Van Peursem of Sioux Falls, SD, and is a
sophomore majoring in Computer Science at Dakota State.
Anthony Drealan received first place at the Wayne State
Invitational in the men's 3000 meter run. He finished
with the time of 9:06.00. Anthony is the son of Wayne
and Heidi Drealan of Fulda, MN, and is a sophomore Computer
Education major at DSU.
The men's 4 x 400 relay team earned a first place for the
second straight week with a time of 3:32.24. The 4 x
400 relay team included Irvine, Cody Foreman, Trevor Strobel,
and Van Peursem. Cody is the son of Doyle and Kay
Foreman of Orient, SD and is a sophomore Business major at
Dakota State University; and Trevor Strobel is the son of
Rod and Lynda Strobel of Sioux Falls, SD, and is a senior
Computer Education at DSU.
The Trojan women's and men's indoor track and field team
will compete in their final regular season meet at USD John
Dalton Invitational on Saturday, February 16, 2008.
The meet will be held at the USD DakotaDome in Vermillion,
SD, with the first meet starting at 10:30 am. The DAC
Indoor Track and Field Conference Championship meet will be
held in Spearfish, SD on Friday, February 22 and Saturday,
February 23.
