(Madison, SD) –
Four Trojan Outdoor Track and Field athletes had
earned DAC All-Conference at the DAC Championship Meet
last Sunday, May 4th in Jamestown, ND.
Laura Tewes, Kari Schaefer, Chris Heezen, and
Anthony Drealan earned DAC All-Conference by placing
first in the event.
Tewes finished first in the women’s
high jump with a height jump measure of 5’5 ¾”.
She was also named to DAC Most Valuable Senior.
Laura is the daughter of Doug and Sally Tewes of
Mayer, MN and plans to graduate in May 2008 in Biology
for Information Systems (Pre-Veterinary Medicine).
Schaefer, senior from Madison, SD, was
the women’s champion in the 1500 meter run.
She finished with a time of 4:57.80 as she earned
DAC All-Conference honors.
Kari is the daughter of Randy and Theresa
Schaefer of Madison, SD, and majors in Exercise Science
at Dakota State University.
Heezen earned first place in the men’s
10,000 meter run with the DAC Conference record time of
32:06.55.
Chris is the son of Jerry and Peggy Heezen of Miller, SD
and is an Exercise Science major at DSU.
Drealan was named to DAC
All-Conference as he finished first in the men’s 1500
meter run.
He crossed the finish line with a time of 4:01.55.
Anthony is the son of Wayne and Heidi Drealan of
Fulda, MN and is majoring in Computer Education at
Dakota State University.
Senior Bobbi Jo Dykstra finished as a
runner-up in the women’s 100 meter hurdles and
automatically qualified to the NAIA National
Championship Meet.
She finished with a time of 14.86 seconds.
Bobbi is the daughter of Brian and Linda Dykstra
of Marion, SD, and majors in Exercise Science at DSU.
The Trojan women’s team finished
fourth with 94 points as the men’s team finished fifth
with 86 points.
It was the most points since joining the DAC
Conference in 2000.
The NAIA National Championship Meet will held in
St. Louis, Missouri on May 22-24, 2008.
