(Madison, SD) - The Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) announced that Trojan’s Dakota Novotny as DAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 21-27, 2008.

Novotny pitched back-to-back five innings, complete game shutouts over Mount Marty last Tuesday, April 22.  In two games, she pitched ten innings, allowed no runs on three hits.  In addition, she recorded ten strikeouts and three walks. Novotny leads the team in ERA with 4.30 and 85 strikeouts for the season.

Dakota is the daughter of Bill and Linda of Clive, IA and is a junior at Dakota State University, majoring in Elementary Education. 

The Trojans (16-28, 6-12 DAC) is the sixth seed in the DAC Softball Postseason Tournament, and play third seed Black Hills State on Friday, May 2nd in Jamestown, ND.
