SD) – The Dakota Athletic Conference
(DAC) has announced that Dakota State's Jessica VanLoy
as Player of the Week of February 4-10, 2008.
VanLoy, 5'10" senior forward from Wabasso, MN, recorded
32 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, nine steals, and
two blocked shots in #11 Lady T's 87-67 victory over
South Dakota School of Mines last Friday night.
She also went 11 for 14 from the field, 3 for 3 from the
three point range, and 7 for 8 from the charity stripe.
Last Saturday versus #16 Black Hills State, VanLoy went
4 for 8 from the field, 1 for 3 from the three point
line, and 2 for 2 from the free throw line for 11
points. She also grabbed six rebounds.
In two games combined last week, VanLoy recorded 43
points, 17 rebounds, ten assists, and two blocked shots.
She went 15 for 22 from the field, including 4 of 6 from
the three point line, and 9 for 10 from the charity
stripe.
On February 1, 2008, VanLoy recorded her 1000th career
point at Jamestown.
According to the NAIA DakStats statistical website,
VanLoy is ranked 18th in the nation in assists per game
with an average of 4.8 assists.
Jessica is the daughter of John and Susan VanLoy, and is
majoring in Exercise Science at Dakota State University.
The Lady T's (16-9, 8-3 DAC) will play their final three
conference regular season games at home. The Lady
T's will host Dickinson State on Friday night as part of
women's basketball Parents' Night at 5:30 pm. On
Saturday afternoon, the Lady T's will host #22 Minot
State at 4:00 pm as Senior Night will be held. On
Wednesday, February 20th, the Lady T's will welcome
Mayville State in their final regular season game.
All games will be held at the DSU Memorial Field House.
