SD) – Senior Jessica VanLoy surpassed
her 1000th career point at Dakota State University in
the first half versus Jamestown last Friday night
(February 1, 2008). She became the fourth Lady T
this season to pass this milestone, joining Laura Tewes,
Angela Carr, and Maria Gengler.
Before entering in the Jamestown game, she needed eight
points to surpass 1000 career points. She netted
in 12 points in the first half and finished with 16
points in #12 Lady T's road conference victory over
Jamestown, 64-57. For the game, VanLoy was 5 for 9
from the field, 2 for 4 from the three point range, and
4 for 6 at the charity stripe. She also recorded
seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.
VanLoy, 5'10" forward from Wabasso, MN, scored 1018
points so far in her four year career at Dakota State
University. According to NAIA DakStats statistical
website, she is 23rd in the nation in assists per game
(4.87). Jessica is the daughter of John and Susan
VanLoy, and majoring in Exercise Science at Dakota State
University.
The Lady T's (15-8, 7-2 DAC) will play their final
conference weekend trip of the season on Friday and
Saturday. The Lady T's will travel to Rapid City,
SD Friday night to take on South Dakota School of Mines
at 5:30 pm (Mountain Time). On Saturday afternoon,
the Lady T's will make a stop in Spearfish, SD to face
Black Hills State with the tipoff slated at 4:00 pm
(Mountain Time).
