(Madison, SD) - Senior Laura Tewes scored her
1,000th career point on
Saturday,
December 28, 2007 against #2 Northwestern (IA) at the
DSU Memorial Field House. Before entering in the
Northwestern (IA) game, she was two points shy of
scoring 1,000 career points at Dakota State. Tewes
scored a basket with 18:54 mark in the first half of the
game to record 1,000 career points. She scored 18
points in the game. Tewes went six for nine from the
field with a perfect showing behind the free throw line,
going six for six. She also grabbed a team high
seven rebounds.
Tewes, a 6'1" forward, scored 1016 points so far in her
four year career at Dakota State University.
According to NAIA DakStats statistical website, she is
ranked first in the nation in field goal percentage
(62.1%) as of Thursday, January 3, 2008. Laura is
the daughter of Doug and Sally Tewes of Mayer, MN.
The seventh ranked Lady T's (8-6) will play their final
non-conference game of the season on Saturday, January
5, 2008 as they take on NCAA Division II Augustana
College at 7:00 pm in Sioux Falls, SD. The Lady
T's will return back to DAC Conference action on the
weekend of January 11 and 12 in North Dakota, and return
home for four-game home stand starting on Friday,
January 18th.
