Chelsa Baxa grabbed a rebound, put it back up and scored for the University of Sioux Falls with less than a second left in regulation to tie Dakota State University's seventh-ranked Lady T's 70-70, sending Thursday's women's basketball game at the DSU Memorial Fieldhouse into overtime.

Unranked USF went on to outscore the Lady T's 17-11 in the extra period to pack in an 87-81 win, leaving the Fieldhouse with a 5-8 record. The Lady T's are now 8-5.

"We got out-shot us, out-rebounded us and out-executed us, " said Lady T's Coach Jeff Dittman.  "And, in the end, they just wanted it more than we did."

The Lady T's got double-figures scoring from five players, led by Maria Gengler, who had 14 points. Jessica VanLoy added 12 points, Nicole Geraets and Jill Hansen each had 11 and Angela Carr 10 as the Lady T's shot their field goals at a 32-75, 43-percent clip.

USF's Lady Cougars were paced by Jade Jorgenson's game-high 24 points. Jorgenson was 7-10 from the field, but she was a perfect 3-3 from beyond the 3-point arc.

It was Jorgenson's in-the-paint field goal as time ran out which knotted the contest
37-37 at the half. Jorgenson's 3-pointer with 3:24 left in overtime also put USF up for good at 75-74.

The Lady Cougars outgunned the Lady T's 7-3 in made 3-pointers to help gain the win. In addition to Jorgenson's 24 points, USF got 18 points from Morgan Campbell and 11 apiece from Jenna Kraayenbrink and Kristin McMahon.

The Lady Cougars were almost perfect from the charity stripe, going 14-15. USF had a 45-41 rebound edge over the Lady T's with Jorgenson claiming eight rebounds and Kraayenbrink seven. Kraayenbrink also had six assists.

DSU got eight rebounds by Gengler and Laura Tewes and VanLoy each had seven. Gengler also had three blocked shots.
