Lady 'Rockers Fall to Lady T's

MADISON - Dakota State dropped No. 23 South Dakota Mines, 76-64, in a Dakota Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday.  The Lady T's opened up a 38-27 lead at halftime and never looked back.

Four Dakota State players posted double-figure points, led by Nicole Geraets' 15. Maria Gengler added 14 points, Jill Hansen had 13 and Jessica VanLoy tallied 11.

Mines was led by Melanie Vedvei, who scored a game-high 26 points on
10-of-21 shooting. She also had six rebounds and four assists.  Rapid City's Jennie Malone added 15 points.

Mines forced 26 Dakota State turnovers, however, the Lady Hardrockers shot 36.8 percent (25-of-68) from the field, compared to 50 percent (27-of-54) by the Lady T's (10-8, 2-3 DAC).
