The 44-point win over Briar Cliff was just one
of two lopsided
victories posted by the Lady T's in the classic.
On Friday, DSU dished out an
86-49 win over Dordt College.
The two wins lifted the Lady T's,
currently ranked sixth in
the NAIA, to 4-1 prior to their next
game, which is
Wednesday at Orange City, Iowa, against
#3 ranked
Northwestern.
Jill Hansen, Laura Tewes and Angela Carr paced
the Lady T's balanced
offense Saturday with double-figure scoring.
Hansen led the way with 15 points,
followed by Tewes and
Carr with 12 apiece.
Tewes' field goal shooting was perfect, going
6-for-6. Hansen
went 8-9 and Carr was 6-8 as the Lady T's shot
field goals at a
60-percent, 40-67 clip, which included nine
3-point field goals.
Jessica VanLoy, Becky Smith and Nelson all had
nine points, and
Alyssa Kirk and Becky Smith each had eight.
The Lady T's limited Briar Cliff (1-3) to
just 22 field goals.
Molly Frank had 16 game-high points for BC,
which also got 11
points from Heather Hinz and 10 by Katie
McCarthy. Briar
Cliff outrebounded the Lady T's 43-40, despite
Nelson and Tewes each
swiping eight rebounds for DSU.

Friday, garnering 12
points. Tewes added another double-figure
display, earning 10
points. Ashley
Mailey and Carr were close behind with
nine-point games,
followed by Maria Gengler and VanLoy with eight
apiece, contributing to the Lady T's
36-69 field goal
shooting.
DSU had a huge 49-31 rebound advantage over
Dordt. Tewes completed
a double-double with 10 rebounds. Gengler also
contributed 10 rebounds. |
