"Our fans really enjoyed seeing us score 101 points Saturday," said Sara Nelson, Dakota State University's starting 6-foot-2 senior. The Lady T's demolished Briar Cliff College 101-57, closing out play in the Lady T's Women's Basketball Classic.

The 44-point win over Briar Cliff was just one of two lopsided victories posted by the Lady T's in the classic.  On Friday, DSU dished out an
86-49 win over Dordt College.  The two wins lifted the Lady T's, currently ranked sixth in the NAIA, to 4-1 prior to their next game, which is
Wednesday at Orange City, Iowa, against #3 ranked Northwestern.

Jill Hansen, Laura Tewes and Angela Carr paced the Lady T's balanced offense Saturday with double-figure scoring.  Hansen led the way with 15 points, followed by Tewes and Carr with 12 apiece.

Tewes' field goal shooting was perfect, going 6-for-6.  Hansen went 8-9 and Carr was 6-8 as the Lady T's shot field goals at a 60-percent, 40-67 clip, which included nine 3-point field goals.

Jessica VanLoy, Becky Smith and Nelson all had nine points, and Alyssa Kirk and Becky Smith each had eight.  The Lady T's limited Briar Cliff (1-3) to just 22 field goals.

Molly Frank had 16 game-high points for BC, which also got 11 points from Heather Hinz and 10 by Katie McCarthy.  Briar Cliff outrebounded the Lady T's 43-40, despite Nelson and Tewes each swiping eight rebounds for DSU.  McCarthy, Hinz and Frank each had eight rebounds for Briar Cliff.

Angela Gottsleben sparked the Lady T's win Friday, garnering 12 points. Tewes added another double-figure display, earning 10 points.  Ashley Mailey and Carr were close behind with nine-point games, followed by Maria Gengler and VanLoy with eight apiece, contributing to the Lady T's 36-69 field goal shooting.

DSU had a huge 49-31 rebound advantage over Dordt. Tewes completed a double-double with 10 rebounds. Gengler also contributed 10 rebounds.
