"We gave up 174 points in the tournament," frowned Dittman. "We'll have to fix that if we intend to be a contender in the DAC-10 race." Dittman saw his Lady T's fall to 3-2.

"We were fortunate to get a win in this game," said Dittman. "We started out strong and built a 10-point lead early in the game, but Waldorf made a run to finish the first half and get a 4-point, 41-37 lead.

``They led most of the second half until we tied the game with just 40 seconds remaining. Over the next 35 seconds, we played pretty good defense and was able to keep Waldorf from scoring so that we could get the game into overtime."  In overtime, the Lady T's outscored Waldorf 10-6, erasing the 74-74 end-of-regulation tie.

DSU got double-figures scoring from Renae Bottum, Laura Tewes, Jessica Van Loy and Angie Carr, who had 19, 14, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

DSU won the game, despite going a less-than-inspiring 29-for-69 from the field.  "We aren't shooting the ball as well as we need to," added Dittman. "While we are scoring a pretty good amount of points, we only shot 42 percent from the field in this game. Considering the number of shots we get inside of 10 feet, we should be shooting a better percentage."

Van Loy and Maria Gengler each had eight rebounds for the Lady T's, seven assists from Bottom and five blocked shots by Gengler.

Waldorf got 15 points from Lindsey Pleuss, 13 by Jamie Hoover and 10 from Maria Stoner.

Northwestern (7-1) took advantage of DSU's shooting woes on Saturday, outgunning the Lady T's 35-22 in field goals.  The Red Raiders got 34 points from Carrie Stromley, 14 by Jaime Hoegh and 13 from Carli Blom.

Blom also had seven rebounds and Mandy Carr five as the Red Raiders out-rebounded the Lady T's 42-40.  Northwestern led by 43-28 at halftime.

"We missed 60 shots, 43 field goals and 17 free throws in the game," said Dittman. "While we were able to grab 25 offensive rebounds, it wasn't enough to match the scoring that Northwestern was doing."

Gengler came through with 20 points and Van Loy added 10. Gengler also had 11 rebounds.  Carr also scored six points and Sara Nelson added five for DSU.

For their efforts, Maria Gengler and Jessica Van Loy were named to the all-tournament team.  Maria is a freshman post player while Jessica is a freshman wing for the Lady T's.
