Split Sends Lady T's To Minot

         The Lady T's 79-69 win over Dickinson State, coupled with a 69-63 loss to Minot State Saturday at the DSU Fieldhouse, is sending Dakota State University to Minot, N.D., Wednesday in first-round postseason play.  The Lady T's split made them the sixth seed in postseason play with a 9-9 record in the DAC-10.  DSU finished the regular season at
16-12.  Minot State (10-8 and 17-11) is the league's third seed.

 

Lady T's 79, Dickinson 69


     DSU, which arched in 30 field goals and nine charity-stripe points, was led by the double-figure scoring of Renae Bottum, Jill Hansen, Laura Tewes and Sara Nelson.  Bottum put in 19 points and Hansen added 17.  Tewes and Nelson each scored 10 points.

     Tewes also had nine of the Lady T's 38 rebounds, and Hansen swiped the boards for six rebounds.  Angie Carr added nine assists in the game, while Tewes and Nelson each had three steals. 

     DSU led 38-34 at halftime.

     Dickinson got 26 points from Sara Bergland, 10 rebounds by Ohoh Odiye and 11 assists from Jessica Campbell.  April Tormeschy added 15 points and Sara Long had 10. 

 

Minot 69, Lady T's 63


     Minot earned its win with the scoring of Jennifer Sundahl, Kendra Meyer and Rashawna Mays.  Sundahl pumped in 23 points, Meyer added 15 and Mays 10 as the victors went 24-46 from the field and 16-19 at the charity stripe.

     DSU got 14 points from Bottum and 12 more from Amber Malvin as the Lady T's went 26-61 from the field, but just 5-14 from the freethrow line.  Bottum and Malvin each had three assists in the game while Tewes had six of the Lady T's 31 rebounds.
