Dakota State University's Lady T's are closer to a possible berth in the NAIA Women's Tournament after a win (67-55) over Minot State University (17-12) Wednesday in first-round DAC-10 Playoff action at Minot.  The Lady T's (17-12) will travel to Rapid City Saturday to play South Dakota Tech, 83-55 winners over Valley City State.

In other first-round playoff action, Jamestown College defeated Black Hills State University 74-68 and the University of Mary beat Si Tanka-Huron 96-74.

Last weekend at the DSU Fieldhouse, Minot State handed the Lady T's a 69-63 defeat.  On Wednesday, however, the Lady T's outgunned Minot, sparked by Amber Malvin and Stacy Dunklau, who had 14- and 12-point outings.  Dunklau had an almost-perfect 6-for-7 field goal shooting display, while Malvin went 5-8 as the Lady T's shot 48 percent, 24-50, from the field.  The Lady T's were 12-of-16 at the charity stripe.

DSU got scoring from five other Lady T's, including 9 points each by Renae Bottum and Jill Hansen.  Amanda Zephier and Sara Nelson each added eight and Maria Gengler had seven.

After leading by a slim 28-27 halftime margin, DSU went on a 39-28 scoring tear in the second half to assure the Lady T's of a 12-point win.  The Lady T's outrebounded Minot 37-25.  Dunklau and Zephier led the way with 8 rebounds apiece.  Bottum and Hansen paced the Lady T's on defense, garnering two steals each.  Bottum, Dunklau, Angie Carr and Zephier each dished out two assists.  DSU's defense limited Minot State to just 20-60 field goal shooting and 9-17 from the free throw line.

Kendra Meyer and Betsy Vig were Minot's only double-figure scorers, having 14 and 10 points, respectively.  Jennifer Sundahl added nine points, Rashawna Mays eight and Brenda Robinson seven.  Sundahl and Mays were Minot's top rebounders, claiming seven and six rebounds, respectively.  Vig also dished out six assists and Brandon Howard had three steals.
