On Tuesday, the Lady T's (4-2) staged a second-half comeback to overtake Dordt College 67-64 at Sioux Center, Iowa.  "This was another good road win for us," said Lady T's Coach Jeff Dittman. "Historically, we were 4-10 at Dordt, so this has never been an easy place for us to play."

Trailing Dordt (1-4) 32-26 at halftime, DSU went on a 41-32 second-half scoring tear to nail down the win.  "We played an excellent second half," said Dittman. "We scored those 41 points while shooting 62 percent from the field."

It took a 15-point performance by Jessica VanLoy and Sara Nelson, along with the 10-point display of Maria Gengler, to push DSU to the win.  VanLoy, Nelson, and Gengler combined for 50-percents, 17-34, field goal shooting and allowed the Lady T's to go 27-56 from the field, including a trio of 3-point successes.

Jessica Van Loy
15 points, 8 rebounds
Sara Nelson
15 points, 4 blocked shots

"Jessica did a great job at both ends of the court," said Dittman.  "She was scoring, rebounding, giving assists and getting steals."

Stacy Dunklau, fresh from her postseason volleyball play, netted eight points, shooting an almost-perfect 4-5 from the field. "Sara and Maria also played well for us in the post, as did Stacy in her first basketball game following the volleyball season," said Dittman

Despite their 27 field goals, the Lady T's won the game at the charity stripe, outscoring Dordt 10-3 from the line.  VanLoy contributed six assists and two blocked shots, while Nelson led DSU with four blocked shots.  "Angie Carr did a good job of running the offense," said Dittman, "and Lindsey Binger was contributing at both ends of the court."

Dordt's Lady Defenders had a 5-rebound, 43-38, edge over DSU, which got eight rebounds by VanLoy and six more from Gengler.  Dordt got eight rebounds from Leslie Larson and six from Kara Karlsgodt.

The Lady Defenders got a game-high 21 points from Shawna Flikkema and 14 more by Karlsgodt.  Chelsea Gerdes garnered seven points.  Flikkema had six assists and Katie Bleeker five.  Larson also had two blocked shots.

DSU host Graceland University of Lamoni, Iowa, at 8 p.m. Saturday in the DSU Fieldhouse.  The Mayville State-Buena Vista game at 6 p.m. ushers in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Holiday Tournament.
