On Tuesday, the Lady T's
(4-2) staged a second-half comeback to overtake Dordt
College 67-64 at Sioux Center, Iowa.
"This was
another good road win for us," said Lady T's Coach Jeff
Dittman. "Historically, we were 4-10 at Dordt, so this has
never been an easy place for us to play."
Trailing Dordt (1-4) 32-26 at halftime, DSU went on a
41-32 second-half scoring tear to nail down the win.
"We played an excellent second half," said Dittman.
"We scored those 41 points while shooting 62 percent from
the field."
It took
a 15-point performance by Jessica VanLoy and Sara Nelson,
along with the 10-point display of Maria Gengler, to push
DSU to the win. VanLoy, Nelson, and Gengler combined
for 50-percents, 17-34, field goal shooting and allowed
the Lady T's to go 27-56 from the field, including a trio
of 3-point successes.
