Lady T's Get Split in North Dakota

It took a 73-64 win by Dakota State University's Lady Trojans over Mayville State University Saturday in Mayville, N.D., to gain a weekend women's basketball split for Coach Jeff Dittman's ballclub.  DSU began the weekend with a 65-62 loss to Valley City State in Valley City Friday.

"We played two solid halves of basketball (against Mayville) instead of only one, and that was the difference in this game," said Dittman.  The Lady T's surged to a 38-28 halftime lead over Mayville and then played on fairly-even terms in the second half to tuck in the 73-64 win Saturday.

On Friday, the Lady T's found themselves in a 41-25 hole and never got out of it, losing 65-62 to Valley City.  "We repeated the same pattern as we did last Tuesday against the University of Sioux Falls (losing 77-69, trailing USF 40-29 at halftime)," added Dittman. "We fell behind by 15 points in the first half and then worked hard to rally in the second half."
