Tech forged a 31-24 first half-ending lead and never
let DSU gain the lead, outscoring the Lady T's 41-34
in the game's final 20 minutes.
DSU got double-digit scoring from Hali McClelland,
Amanda Zephier and Andrea Gullickson, who had
respective 14-, 13- and 10-point outings.
Tech had a 26-25 made field goals edge over the Lady
T's, getting 23 tilt-tops points from Stacie Vedvei.
Cori Leis also had 16 counters and Miaken Zeibler
14. Tech had a decisive 51-37 rebound
advantage over DSU as Vedvei completed a
double-double with 10 rebounds. Leis added nine
rebounds and Quinn Godeke and Zeigler each had
eight.
DSU got 11 rebounds apiece
from Zephier and McClelland.
"We did a pretty good
job of defending the first shot, but we couldn't
keep them off the offensive boards. Consequently,
they got a lot of easy second shots," said DSU
Coach Jeff Dittman. "Tech's 22 offensive boards
was the key to their offensive output."

Despite losing to Black Hills State, Dittman saw
some positives coming out of Saturday's game.
"Our intensity was a lot better tonight,"
said Dittman. "We did a solid job of defending.
We held Black Hills State to 63 points, but we just
couldn't score enough to make our defensive effort
equal a win."
Robin Grinager came through with 13 team-tops points
for DSU, which also got 10 apiece by Renae Bottom
and Gullickson. McClelland grabbed eight of
the Lady T's 26 rebounds, while Bottum added five
assists and Amber Malvin three steals.
The Lady Yellow Jackets
were sparked by Joni Lunney's 16 points and 13
rebounds. Amanda Mortensen added 10 points and
Melissa Bruns claimed 10 of BHSU's 39 rebounds.
The Lady T's travel to
Huron Thursday to take on Si Tanka-Huron.
