DSU had a 28-26 haltime edge over Mary, but then Mary went on a 46-40 second-half scoring run to nail down the win.  "This was one of our best games of the year," said DSU Coach Jeff Dittman.  "We had great intensity and concentration throughout the game.  I thought our defense did a very good job against one of the best scoring teams in the country."

Amber Malvin was DSU's only double-figure scorer, netting 15 points.  Sara Nelson and Hali McClelland added eight points apiece, followed closely by Renae Bottum with seven and Lindsey Binger and Sandy Smith each with six.

Mary got 20 points by Sarah Leer, while Jessica Zundel and Molly Merrigan added 14- and 12-point outings.  Mary outrebounded the Lady T's 48-36 with Zundel claiming 16 rebounds.  DSU had a 28-27 field goal edge over Mary, but the winners outscored the Lady T's 26-17 at the free throw line.

"The key again was rebounding," added Dittman.  "Mary pulled down 17 offensive rebounds for key second shots.  Mary also got to the free throw line 24 times in the second half and they are an excellent free throw shooting team."  Amber Zephier and McClelland had eight rebounds apiece for the Lady T's.

"We dug ourselves a hole in the first half," admitted Dittman.  "The second half featured an outstanding job of defending by our team."  Andrea Gullickson had 14 points for DSU, 11 by McClelland, eight from Bottom and seven by Nelson.
