Lady T's Lose to BHSU, S.D. Tech

     Dakota State University's Lady Trojans continued to struggle on the basketball court, losing respective 61-53 and 69-53 to Black Hills State on Friday and S.D. Tech on Saturday.  The Lady T's, now 6-13 overall and 2-7 in the DAC-10 conference, get their next chance at victories when they host Jamestown College on Friday and the University of Mary on Saturday at the DSU Fieldhouse.

BHSU 62, Lady T's 53

     Black Hills State utilized the charity stripe to its advantage, outscoring the Lady T's 18-12 from there, while both squads collected 20 field goals in the game.  The winners (8-8 and 4-4) got 18 points from Darcy Reinicke and 17 more from Amanda Schelle to claim victory.

     For the Lady T's, Trisha Grablander banked in 11 points and Jessica Honermann added 10 counters.

Off the boards, DSU had a six-rebound, 41-35, edge over the Lady Yellow Jackets.  Leah Bakke claimed eight rebounds and Erin Nielsen had seven for DSU, while Reinicke had seven grabs and Schelle, Heather Combs and Kim Eberhardt each had four for Black Hills State.


S.D. Tech 69, Lady T's 53

     Tech (14-4) increased its DAC-10 lead to 8-1 with its 16-point, 69-53, win over DSU on Saturday.  Tech had a decisive 22-5 scoring edge over the Lady T's at the free throw line.

     The Lady Hardrockers got 18 points from Jamie Rathjan and twin 11-point outings by Miaken Keigler and Stacie Vedvei to nail down the win.  Keigler and Rathjan had respective eight- and seven-rebound outings for Tech, which outrebounded the Lady T's 44-39.

     DSU got a double-double by Jennie Sonne, collecting 12 points and hauling in 10 rebounds.  Honermann also added 11 points and six rebounds and Mandy Kruger nine points for the Lady T's.
