Scrimmage Game vs.
Northwestern College
Oct. 28, 2000

In the second game of the day, the Lady T's played a solid game of basketball against the NAIA Pre-season #1 team in the country.  A combination of good perimeter shooting and solid rebounding helped the Lady T's play a good game against Northwestern College of Iowa.

Erin Nielsen had a great pair of scrimmages.  She played tremendous defense, was extremely quick to the boards, and ran the court very well.  Jessica Honermann also had two solid games.  Jessica shot the ball well and got us easy baskets in the open court by beating opposing posts down the court.  Heidi Honermann had an excellent day of shooting the ball from the three-point line and continuously found open players for assists.  And, in limited minutes because of shin splint pain, Jennie Sonne gave us a good performance in the low post at both ends of the court.

I feel we made some solid progress today.  We were unhappy with our performance in the first scrimmage with Dakota Wesleyan but came back with a strong effort against Northwestern.  We are running the ball at our opponents with good success and we continue to hit the boards well.  We need to get in better shape so our defense can play with great intensity for 40 minutes.  We found some weaknesses today that we will concentrate on in practice this week in our preparation for our opener against Presentation College in one week.
