In a 73-57 upset Tuesday, the Dakota State University Lady T's scored a rare win against Sioux Center's Dordt College.  "We have ony won one game in the last seven years in Sioux Center," Coach Jeff Dittman said, "so our win last night was an excellent road win."

Dittman said the game started off quick, with the Dordt women scoring on their first six possessions.  The Lady T's then reacted defensively, slowing down their opponents for the remainder of the game.

"Except for the fact (that) we gave Dordt too many free throws - 29- I think our defense was very sound," Dittman said.

By halftime, the Lady T's were in the lead 30-27.  Comparatively, the Lady T's had more shots at the basket, but the accuracy of the Dordt women was slightly higher.  Overall, the Lady T's shot with 46 percent accuracy at the two-point range and 37 percent from the three-point range compared to Dordt's 44 percent and 33 percent, respectively.

Kathy Shypulski was among the DSU standouts with an "outstanding" 10 of 18 from the field, 5 of 8 from the three-point line and seven assists.  Jennie Sonne was "very good in the low post," Dittman said, hitting 5 of 7 from the field and grabbing seven rebounds.

Amy Balk and Hali McClelland also gave "excellent performances" off the bench for the Lady Trojans.
