2006 Senior All-Star Game

The 2006 Dakota State University Senior All-Star Game turned out to be a high-scoring affair with the Blue Squad recording a 101-63 win.  Four players for the Blue Squad reached double-digit scoring, led by Ashley Johnson's 19 counters.  Following Ashley in scoring was Michelle Amundson with 18, Angela Jones with 16 and Lacey Powell with 15 points.

For the Gold Team, the double figure scorers were Ashley Mailey with 11 points and Jessica Tykwinski with 10.  Click here for a full box score.

Here is a list of all of the athletes that played in the seventh annual
Lady T's All-Star game.  We would like to thank each of them for joining us for another great event.

Camden All-Conference selection as a junior and senior.  All-Area two years.  Honorable Mention All-State as a senior.    

Whitney Wagner          5-7                 G                    Chamberlain HS (SD)

Two-time All-Conference selection in the Big Dakota Conference.  Named 1st team S.E.S.D. All-Conference while leading Chamberlain to the State “A” Tournament. 

Jessica Tykwinski         5-7                 G                    Lincoln HI (MN)

Named to All-Conference team four times.  Named All-Area 1st Team three years.  All-State Honorable Mention junior and senior year and MVP of Section 3A as a junior. 

 Kelsha Hanssen             5-8                 F            Bridgewater/Emery HS (SD)

Two-time MVP of Emery girl’s basketball team.  1st Team All-Conference selection and the Mitchell Daily Republic Player of the Week.  Chosen to attend South Dakota Girl’s State.  

Angela Noteboom        5-10                C                    Corsica HS (SD)

Selected to the All-Conference squad as a junior and senior.  Led Corsica in scoring for three years and was voted Corsica High School Most Valuable Player. 

 Nicole Gunderman      5-10                F                    Fulda HS (MN)

All-Conference selection as a senior.  Was captain of her Fulda High School team that won the Minnesota Class “A” State Championship in March.  Was also named to the Minnesota Academic All-State team. 

 Ashley Mailey               5-11                F                    Dell Rapids HS (SD)

Received the Spirit of Su Award at the 2006 State “A” Tournament.  Named to the Class “A” All-Tournament team as a senior.  Nominated for Who’s Who Among American High School students and is a Dell Rapids Honor Roll student. 

Ashlee Domine             5-11                C                    Tracy Area HS (MD)

               Two-time All-Conference and All-Area recipient.  Honorable Mention All-State
               selection her junior year.  Has not selected a university to attend at this time. 

 Dayna Tschakert         5-11                C                    Tri-Valley HS (SD)

               Was named to the All-Conference team in both basketball and volleyball.  Was
               Academic All-State selection in both basketball and volleyball.  Scored 1,100 points
               in high school. 
 

 Megan Swecker            5-9                 G                    Sauk Rapids HS (MN)

             Selected Central Lakes All-Conference both junior and senior year.  Set school
               records for single game assists (13) and steals (11).  She was the Sauk Rapids team
              captain.  Megan just finished knee surgery so she will be unable to play in today’s
              game.

Blue Team

Ashley Johnson             5-3                 G           Stickney/Mt. Vernon HS (SD)

Led Mt. Vernon to back-to-back State “B” Championships in 2004 and 2005.  Twice named 1st Team All-Conference and was a State “B” All-Tournament selection as a sophomore and junior.  1st Team All-State selection in 2006. 

Allison Johnson             5-7                 G           Stickney/Mt. Vernon HS (SD)

Named to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader “First Five” and cited the Mitchell Daily Republic “Player of the Year” as a junior.  1st Team All-State selection.  High school record was 114-6.    

Michelle Amundson      5-7                 G                    Dell Rapids HS (SD)

Member of National Honor Society her junior and senior year.  State “A” All-Tourney selection in 2006.  Three-time All-State selection while being named Dell Rapids Female Athlete of the year in 2005.  

Brittany Fuhrman        5-6                 G                    Mobridge HS (SD)

                Regent’s Scholar and an All-State selection for three years.  Named All-Conference
                for five years.  Received Honorable Mention All-State in volleyball.  Will attend
                Black Hills State next fall. 

Lacey Powell                 5-7                 G                    Parkston HS (SD)

            Named to the State “A” All-Tourney team in 2005.  S.D. All-State selection for three years.  Nominated as a McDonald’s All-American in 2006. 

Katie Bourk                   5-9                 F                    Sully Buttes HS (SD)

            Received the Spirit of Su award at the 2006 State “B” Tournament.  Was named to
                2006 State “B” All-Tournament team.  National Honor Society selection for three
                years and received the National Women in Sports Day Award. 

Angela Jones                 6-1                 C           Stickney/Mt. Vernon HS (SD)

                Four-time All-Conference selection while playing on two State “B” Championship teams.  Received the Player in the Paint award the past three years.  Named the Mitchell Daily Republic Player of the Week. 

Dannielle Bauer            6-3                 C                    Dell Rapids HS (SD)

               Dell Rapids MVP in 2003.  Most Improved volleyball player in 2004.  National Honor
               Society member and Regent’s Scholar. 

Krista Rabenberg         6-5                 C                    Mobridge HS (SD)

            As a senior, was named All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State.  Was selected to
                the State “A” All-Tournament team in 2006.
