Jeff Dittman's work for the 2006-07 season isn't over, but he has already reaped one of the benefits of guiding the Lady T's to the Dakota Athletic Conference's regular-season championship and, just Tuesday night, the conference's postseason tournament title.

On Monday, Dittman was named the DAC's women's basketball Coach of the Year.  Dittman has steered the Lady T's to their fifth appearance to the NAIA Women's Division II Tournament in Sioux City.

His Lady T's have amassed a 21-10 record, which includes a 10-4 DAC title-taking finish in regular season play and an 87-67 postseason tourney championship on Tuesday against S.D. Tech.

"This has been a fun year so far," said Dittman.  "We've accomplished two of our goals:  defending our regular-season conference championship and the winning the post-season tourney title, enabling us to get back to the NAIA National Tournament."

"I believe the athletes on this team have had a remarkable season.  I feel the depth of our squad is a huge key to claiming a second consecutive conference championship."

Overall, Dittman, who has coached the Lady T's since 1993, has a current 224-188 record.  Dittman was named Coach of the Year in the SDIC in 1998 and DAC Coach of the Year in 2001.  This is the 5th Lady T’s team Dittman has taken to the NAIA National Tournament, with two "Elite Eight" and one "Sweet Sixteen" finish.  During the 2006-2007 basketball season, Coach Dittman surpassed former DSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach Ed Harter to become the winningest coach in DSU history.
