Sara Nelson Named to
2006 NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete Squad

Junior Sara Nelson has been named an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete for the 2005-06 season.  To be eligible for this award, an athlete must have completed four semesters, must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.50 and must make "significant contributions" to the team in terms of games played, minutes and stats.    

Nelson is an Exercise Science major from Dell Rapids, S.D.  Sara will complete her degree from DSU, then enroll in Graduate School to pursue her vocation as a Physical Therapist.

     For the 2005-06 season, Sara scored 206 points and grabbed 185 rebounds.  The 6-2 junior was also second on the team in minutes played with 774.  Sara is one of the hardest working members of the Lady T's squad and is well-respected by her teammates and by the DSU community.  She has served as a Resident Assistant in Emry Hall, is a DSU Host Ambassador and is a member of the Kappa Sigma Iota, a Scholastic Honor Society at DSU.
