Hali McClelland finished the 2002-03 season with a strong
performance against Huron University on Saturday and was named Dakota
State University's player-of-the-week.
The
5'11" sophomore forward from Gaylord, Minnesota, scored 22
points in the 75-63 win over HU at the DSU Fieldhouse.
Hali shot 10-16 (62.5%) from the floor and 2-2 from the
freethrow line for her point tally. She also grabbed
four rebounds, had three assists, two steals, and one blocked
shot for a great all-around performance.
"Hali has played very well the
last three weeks of the season," said Jeff Dittman, the Lady T's
head coach. "She has reached 20 points or more in scoring
three of the last five games and hit the game-winner with four
seconds on the clock against Black Hills State last weekend"
McClelland finished the season as the
team's third-highest scorer with a 9.3 points-per-game average;
second in rebounding, averaging 5.9 nabs a contest; and was
second in freethrow percentage, hitting 76.1% of her tries.
The
daughter of Curt and Tracy Hahn, Hali was voted Co-MVP of the
Minnesota River Conference at Sibley East High School and
garnerd All-State Honorable Mention and All-State Tournament
Team honors. For her career, she helped her team finish
with a 88-17 record . Sibley East High School won three
Conference Championships, three Sub-Section Championships and
two Section Championships during Hali's career. Hali is
majoring in Business Administration/Accounting at DSU.
