Jessica Honermann, with a solid two games played against Mayville and Valley City State universities last weekend, has gained Dakota State University's athlete-of-the-week honors.  The six-foot Adrian, Minn., junior forward bucketed 37 points in the two North Dakota games and hauled in 20 rebounds for the Lady Trojans.  She also had four blocked shots while shooting 16-of-26 from the field and 4-5 from the charity stripe.

"Jessica had two outstanding performances this weekend," said Jeff Dittman, the Lady T's head coach. "While averaging 18.5 points per game, Jessica shot 62 percent from the field, with the majority of the shots outside of 15 (feet). After playing 37 minutes in Friday's overtime game, she came back and played 30 minutes in Saturday's game against Valley City."

Honermann finished last season as the team's third-highest scorer with a 13.7 points-per-game average; second in rebounding, averaging 5.8 nabs a contest; and led the team in blocked shots with 32.

At Adrian High School, Honermann, the daughter of Karen and Roy Honermann, was an all-conference, all-area and all-state player. She also lettered in volleyball and golf.  Presently, Honermann is pursuing elementary education and coaching majors.
