Erin Nielsen Named
NAIA Academic All-American

Erin Nielsen, a 5-11 junior forward from Pierre, South Dakota, has been named to the NAIA Division II All-America Scholar-Athlete squad.

The NAIA-Women's Basketball Coaches Association selects the All-America Scholar-Athlete honorees each year based on criteria and standards established by the NAIA-WBCA. An athlete must meet the following requirements to be eligible for selection:

1) must have achieved junior academic status
2) must have a minimum 3.50 GPA
3) must make a significant contribution to her team

The All-America Scholar-Athlete Committee consists of the tournament committee and two designated NAIA-WBCA members of Division II.

"Erin brings credit to herself on and off the court," says Coach Jeff Dittman.  "Academically, she is an outstanding student preparing herself for post-graduate work in Physical Therapy.  On the floor, she is an outstanding defender that creates match-up problems with her ability to defend anyone from the point guard to the power forward.  While Erin might not receive the accolades accorded to scorers, she has been an important part of our success in conference and National Tournament play the past three years".
