Who wants to be a Lady T?

The lights fade, all eyes are focused intently on the screen.  With fear and a little doubt in my eyes, I think I should go with my gut instinct. But what if I am wrong?  The stakes are huge.  The question is: What three characteristics do I need to be a Lady T?  A) Dedication, B) Skill,
C) Tenacity, or D) All of the above.  My life lines have been used and the clock is slowly ticking. "Ok Coach Dittman, I know a few Lady T's so I am going to have to go with my gut instinct on this one.....D." There I said it! "Hmm.... D) All of the Above, is that your final answer?" he calmly asks. "Yes!" I shout. The room is filled with anticipation.... Can she be a Lady T? Coach calmly looks at me and slowly says.... "Congratulations!!!!  You know what it takes to be a Lady T!!!!  Are you up to the challenge?"

Two future Lady T's have decided to take on that challenge.  Hali McClelland and Teresa Hildebrand have signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball for Dakota State University.

Hali McClelland, a 6'0" forward, comes to Dakota State from Gaylord, Minnesota where she attended Sibley East High School.  As a high school athlete, Hali was involved in volleyball, basketball and track.  In volleyball, she was a varsity letterwinner her junior and senior year and was voted All-Conference her senior year.  In track she was a letterwinner for five years and All-Conference her freshman and sophomore year.

In basketball, one of her lifelines, she received a number of accolades.  Hali was a varsity starter and a letterwinner for four years.  In her senior season, she averaged 12.3 points, 7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.3 steals.  She was also Caption of her team and voted Co-MVP of the Minnesota River Conference.  Hali garnered All-State Honorable Mention and All-State Tournament Team honors.  For her career, Hali helped her team finish with a 88-17 record .  They also hold three Conference Championships, three Sub-Section Championships and two Section Championships.

Off the court, field, or track, Hali was selected to the National Honor Society, was nominated Student of the Month and Rotary Senior of the Quarter.  She plans on majoring in Business Administration at Dakota State.

The second challenger is Teresa Hildebrand. Teresa, the daughter of Wes and Carol Hildebrand is originally from Morden, Manitoba (Canada), where she attended Morden Collegiate Institute.  During her high school career, Teresa was a member of the soccer, fastball, volleyball, softball and basketball teams.  In softball, Teresa was named Captain and participated in the 1996 Western Canadian Championships.

During her basketball career, Teresa helped her team to the Western Canadian Championships in 1995, 1996, and 1997.  She was a three time Provincial "AA" Basketball All-Star, 1997 "AA" Player of the Year, 1998 McDonald's BEST Scholarship winner, and was voted Morden Collegiate Female Athlete of the Year in 1997 and 1998.  Teresa was also a member of the 1999-2000 University of Winnipeg women's basketball team.

These two athletes don't have to poll the audience or call a friend, they know what hard work and dedication is. They also know that not everyone can be a Lady T. So, Who Wants to be a Lady T? Hali and Teresa do.......
