Receiving an 11th seed, DSU found
its first obstacle in the National Tournament in
St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.). Aquinas
finished the regular season 18-6 and was the number one three-point
shooting team in the country. With a
stifling defense, strong post play, and dominating rebounding, DSU
posted a 74-55 win. The win put Dakota State in the “Sweet Sixteen” round against
the host team,#6 seed Briar Cliff College.
