This scholarship has been created on behalf of Jeff Dittman to assist players participating in the Lady T’s basketball program. Coach Dittman began his coaching at Dakota State in 1993. During his ten years as the head coach, he has accumulated the second most wins among all coaches in Lady T history. His accomplishments included winning the SDIC championship in the1999-2000 season with 25 wins and 8 losses and an Elite Eight finish in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. His 2000-01 squad recorded a 23-9 record and won the first DAC-10 Conference Championship. This team advanced to the "Sweet Sixteen" round at the NAIA National Tournament. And, in 2003, the Lady T's squad won the DAC-10 post-season tournament and advanced to their third NAIA National Tournament for the third time in four years with a 20-12 record. Coach Dittman has been selected "Conference Coach of the Year" twice, in 1997-98 and 2000-01. Coach Dittman’s athletes have gained numerous honors including two NAIA All-Americans, one honorable mention All-American, twelve NAIA Academic All-Americans, and 13 All-Conference players. In
addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach Dittman has been an active
advocate for the women’s basketball program, helping parents and athletes
create eight women’s basketball endowed scholarships. Coach Dittman’s teams have raised well over $75,000 in fund
raising activities during his tenure. Coach
Dittman also initiated fund raising activities in which players raised money to
take an “educational trip”. In
1999 the players traveled to Washington D.C. and in 2001, they traveled to New
York City. Coach Dittman’s dedication and commitment to the Lady T’s
program has moved the program to National recognition.
The Lady T’s have been ranked in the NAIA “Top Twenty” National
polls six of the past seven years and in 2000 was ranked as high as 7th
