As a Junior: A thyroid problem kept Amber out of the first two months of the season. She started eleven of the final fourteen games and recorded double-digit scoring in the final three games of the season. As a Sophomore: Amber moved from shooting guard to point guard this season. She started all 29 games and led the team in assists (107) and was second in scoring (9.2 ppg). Amber scored a team high 30 points against Mt. Marty College while hitting 5 for 7 from the three-pointer line. As a Freshman: Amber played extensive minutes in 29 ball games. A strained ligament in her knee kept her out of the final three games of the regular season but she returned for the conference playoffs and the National Tournament. Amber averaged 5.5 points per game while shooting 45% from the field. She shot 35% from the three-point line and 73% from the freethrow line. Amber is an outstanding driver who finishes the tough shots. As a Freshman: Amber was a redshirt freshman in 2001-2. As a High School Athlete: Amber participated in both basketball and softball at Jefferson High School. She was an All Conference player for the softball team and an All Conference Honorable Mention player for basketball team. She averaged 8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Amber was voted Best Defensive Player of the Year. Minnesota Basketball News named Amber to the Minnesota Pre-Season Top 100 player list. Statistics
