8:00 am Our wake up call was a little bit later this morning. The first stop today was Arlington Cemetery. We spent quite a bit of time here and really enjoyed all aspects of it. As we progressed through the tour almost everyone was silent out of respect. Who could have ever imagined seeing JFK's eternal flame or the tomb of the unknown soldiers.

12:00 pm It was already noon! The day was starting to get away from us so it was time to head to the Smithsonian. There were so many buildings to look at we split up and went to different buildings..

5:30 pm Touring through the Smithsonian buildings took a little bit longer than we had expected. So, we headed to the Capitol building to see if we could still catch a tour. Unfortunately we missed the last tour. But, we were still allowed to go into different parts of the building. We also saw a statue of our very own General Beadle!

6:00 pm After looking through the Capitol Building we discovered that we were only a few blocks from Union Station. On the way to Union Station we passed the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. Union Station proved to be a great surprise, there were many places to eat and shop plus we could also get on the Metro from there.
9:00 pm Time to head back to the hotel. Everyone was exhausted. But, we had enough energy to sing happy birthday to Sheila Haack while we were waiting for the Metro. I  think that tipped people off that we might be tourists! Day 3 of our trip was now over.
