Individual sports at
Dakota State University often have specialized needs related to
facilities and equipment. Private gifts can play a major role
acquiring key resources necessary for team and individual success.
This year we are offering
a new option for DSU giving. Donors can now designate their
gift toward special operating needs of the Athletics Department
(above and beyond normal operating budgets). A good example
would be the need for special training or weight lifting equipment,
purchasing new uniforms or allowing teams to stay overnight on
certain long trips rather than returning home immediately following
a game.
These are the types of
things usually not budgeted for but very helpful to our programs.
Funding initiatives for these specific needs are considered Special
Projects. In all cases, gifts made in support of Special
Projects are a contribution to the Dakota State Athletic Department.
In some instances, fundraising programs for special projects might
provide specific forms of donor recognition.
