Julie Fiegen-Price
began her college education at Dakota State University in Madison
following her graduation from Dell Rapids St. Mary's High School
in 1982. She went on to graduate from DSU in May of 1986 with a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in
Economics.
While attending Dakota State, Julie was a member of Delta Mu
Delta, the Business Administration National Honor Society, and
served as Vice President of Delta Mu Delta in 1985-86 and
Treasurer of the Student Activities Board in 1983-84. Julie was
also treasurer of the Emry Hall Association in 1983-84 and a four
year letter-winner in basketball.
While a member of the Lady T's, Julie was named SDIC most valuable
player in 1985 and 1986 and SDIC All-Conference in 1984, 1985, and
1986. She was the team captain in 1985-86 and named Outstanding
Female Athlete at Dakota State in 1986. Julie was also a member of
the NAIA All-District 12 Team in both 1985 and 86. Other
collegiate honors include the V.T. Hanlon Memorial Scholarship;
DSU Centennial Scholarship; L.F. Ericsson Memorial Scholarship;
Karl E. Mundt Leadership Scholarship and was named Madison
Jaycee's Sportswoman of the Month during her senior year at Dakota
State.
Her coaching credits include girls assistant coach at Dell Rapids
St. Mary's in 1986 and head coach in 1987. Julie has also been
associated with the 5th grade girls program at St. Mary's.
Julie and her family, husband David and children Holly, 10, and
Andrew, 7 live in rural Dell Rapids, SD.

Bill Larsen
began his wrestling career in the Harlan Community Schools,
Harlan, IA in 1965. He was the only Cyclone wrester to qualify for
three state meets and win a medal in all three. Bill was a 3 time
championship finalist in 1966, 1967, and 1968 and in 1967 was a
member of the Iowa State championship team, having only two
classes at the time. In 1968, he was an All-American, compiling a
high school record of 75-3-2 from 1966-68.
In
1969 Bill began his wrestling career at Dakota State. While in
college, he was MVP from 1970-1972; named as an Outstanding
College Athlete of American in 1970; was an All-American in 1972
and qualified for the Olympic final try-outs. Also in 1972 Bill
was the first Dakota State wrestler to win an SDIC Championship
and the first to place in an NAIA National Tournament. His College
wrestling record stands at 63-14-1.
After college, Bill went on to teach Industrial Tech and Physical
Education at Exira High School, Exira, IA. While there he also was
head wrestling coach, head boy's track coach and varsity assistant
football coach.
Bill then moved in 1979 and began teaching Industrial Technology
and Physical Education at Tri-Center Community Schools, Neola, IA.
There he was an assistant varsity football and wrestling coach and
also head boy's track coach. Bill was named District Track "Coach
of the Year" in 1989. In 1997 he received the Iowa Association of
Track Coaches "Dedicated Service Award" for 25 years.
Bill is married to former Dakota State grad Janet Fletcher of
Hartford, SD. They reside in Minden and are both employed by
Tri-Center Community Schools. Their son Tony, a graduate of USD at
Vermillion is employed by ROC Enterprises and their daughter Heidi
is a 1999 graduate of Northwest Missouri State of Maryville, MO.

Pauline Tulson,
Matthews, NC, began her education by attending Cleveland #3,
one-room country school at Bryant, SD and graduated from Bryant
High School. She went on to attend General Beadle State College
and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1967 with a B.S. Degree in
physical education and a minor in history. While attending
college, Tulson played field hockey, basketball, and volleyball
and was named the first GBSC Woman Athlete of the Year 1965-66.
Pauline continued her education and earned a minor in Health
Education at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls in 1974.
Then on to the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN for her
Master's in Curriculum and Instruction in 1978. She was also
certified in school counseling at the University of North Carolina
at Charlotte.
Paulie's professional career began in 1967 at Hastings, MN where
she taught physical education and health at Hastings Jr. High.
From 1970-77, she was physical education and health instructor,
Jr. High track, gymnastics and Senior High varsity tennis coach at
Stillwater Jr. High, Stillwater, MN. In 1980, Pauline began
coaching varsity tennis at Providence Day School, a private school
in Charlotte, NC. She also was a professional tennis instructor at
Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Clubs, specializing in doubles
instruction. From 1984-86 she continued as a professional tennis
instructor at Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Club, Hilton Head, SC.
From 1986 to 1992, Pauline taught physical education and health at
Cochrane Jr. High, Charlotte, NC. She also coached softball and
track & field and was President of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Jr.
High School Athletic Conference consisting of 32 schools.
Currently, Tulson is high school counselor at Sun Valley High
School, Monroe, NC and has been department chair since 1997.
Pauline's sports interest continue to be softball, volleyball and
tennis where she has competed in doubles tournament in Minnesota
and North Carolina and also in the National Grasscourts Tournament
in Philadelphia.
Paulie's parents, Fern and Glenn Tulson are both deceased, her
brother and sister-in-law, Burt and Linda Tulson still reside in
Lake Norden, SD.

Bob Nangle attended
Dakota State University (General Beadle State Teachers' College)
from 1957 to 1961 graduating with a B.S. Degree in Social Studies
and Physical Education. In 1968, he received a Masters Degree in
Physical Education/Administration from South Dakota State
University.
While attending GBSTC, Bob played football starting on both
offense and defense for four years. he never missed a game in
those four years. In 1957, Bob was selected to the All-Conference
Football Team. Also that year, the football team had the best
record in the school's history. In 1959, GBSTC beat Northern State
Teachers' College for the first time in school history. During
three of Bob's years at GBSTC he ran track and during his senior
year he played on the school's first baseball team. As a senior he
served as the business manager for the yearbook.
Bob started his teaching career in 1961 at Edgerton Public School
in Edgerton, MN where he taught physical education and coached
football, basketball and track. Edgerton's football team was
undefeated in the fall of 1963. For one year, Bob was a graduate
assistant at the University of South Dakota. As a graduate
assistant, Bob coached football, wrestling and baseball. In 1965,
he was hired by Pipestone High School where he has been head coach
in football, cross-country, basketball, and track. He also served
as American Legion and VFW baseball coach for several years.
Bob's coaching accolades include District Coach of the Year in
Football 1963, 1971; Basketball 1983; Girls' Track 1986, 1987,
1993; Boys' Track 1968, 1970, 1976, 1981, 1984, and 1990. In 1990
the Boys' Basketball Association recognized Bob for his
contributions to MN District 8 Athletics. At the section/region
level he was selected Track Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1995. He
has been head track coach for 36 years, and in that time has had
100 participants in MN State Track Meet of which six of those were
individual state champions. One of those individuals set a MN
State Track Meet Record which still stands. Bob also coached one
championship relay team.
Bob has been the Athletic Director at Pipestone for 27 years. In
the spring of 1998, Bob was named Minnesota Class "A" State
Athletic Director of the Year. He has been active in the Minnesota
State High School Athletic Directors' Association where he has
held the offices of 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President,
President and Past President. In 1992-1993, Bob coordinated the
State Athletic Directors' Conference. He has been a presenter and
facilitator at the New Athletic Directors' Workshop. He was Region
2A Representative for six years and Region 3A Representative for
three years. Bob also spent two years as Chair of the Athletic
Directors' Advisory Committee to the Minnesota State High School
League.
Bob's wife, Carol (Thompson '58) and daughter JoLynn ('86) are
also graduates of Dakota State and are presently teaching in the
Pipestone-Jasper School system.
