Bill Koerner (1997
recipient)--Bill is from Lennox, SD and is a senior majoring in
Health-Physical Education. He has participated in Men's Basketball
for four years and is 5th on the all-time men's basketball scorers'
list. Bill has great knowledge of the game, superior work ethic and
leadership skills that others look to follow. Bill is an all round
great student athlete.

Jason Smidt (2000
recipient)--For his performance on the basketball court, Jason is
recognized this year's Dusty Andersen Memorial Award. He was also
recognized for Male Athlete of the Year in 2000. Jason was named a
Second Team NAIA Division II All-American in basketball in 2000. He
is three time All-SDIC selectee and was sixth in the nation this
season in scoring average with 23 points per game. He finished his
career as DSU's fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,731 points and
holds career records in three point field goals made with 302 and in
a season with 116. Jason also earned National Player of the Week
honors in 2000 and was a three-time SDIC Player of the Week.

Chad Kurtenbach
(2001 recipient)--A native from Toronto, South Dakota, Chad has been
named an NAIA Academic All-American for two years in a row. He
finished his DSU basketball career in the 14th spot on DSU's career
three-point shots made list and also in 12th for three-point field
goal percentage. Chad was honored this year as the team's Most
Improved Player and Most Dedicated Player. He was also recognized as
a Lowry Scholar because of his exemplary academic accomplishments
and his leadership in and out of the classroom.

J.F. Jensen (2002
recipient)--J.F. Jensen finished his sophomore year of Trojan
Basketball by being named to the 3rd team DAC-10 All-Conference. He
moved into the top 10 in several DSU season and game records this
year, including 8th place in most points scored in a season (69);
1st place for most free throw made in a season (171); 2nd place for
highest free throw percentage in a game (13 of 13 for 100%); and 7th
place for highest free throw percentage in a season (83.8%).
Needless to say with J.F. having more years of Trojan Basketball
ahead of him, we expect to see more records broken. Off the court,
J.F. is very active in Captains' Council, the Trojan Tales reading
program, and has participated in the community volunteer Make a
Difference Day.

Aaron Vogt (2003
recipient)--Aaron, a native of Sauk Center,
Minnesota, graduated at DSU with a major in exercise science. He is a member of the DSU
Baseball team. He has been very active since his arrival to DSU two
years ago. Aaron played an active role in the baseball program's
Little Trojan All Night gatherings, the Rent-An-Athlete program, and DSU's Trojan Tales reading program. Aaron's coach commented, "Aaron
is on e of the hardest workers and most committed student-athletes
that I have ever coached. He is one of our starting pitchers that
always gets the baseball in the big games. Losing is not in his
vocabulary. These characteristics will make Aaron successful in
life."

Kyle
Konopasek (2004
recipient)--Kyle, a four-year letter winner for
the Trojans
Basketball
team, was named 2004 Dusty Anderson Memorial Award winner. He
is a graduate of Dakota State with a major in Management, Finance,
and Math Information Systems. He was the team captain in his
senior year and was named NAIA All-Academic Scholar Athlete for two
straight years along with DAC-10 Scholar Athlete honors. Kyle,
a native of Verdigre, Nebraska, was a member of the Center of
Excellence and Student Resident Director for Emry Hall.
Greg Biagi
(2008
recipient)-- Greg was selected as one of the
fifteen
players across the country to be selected as 2008 NAIA All-American
Preseason Team. He was named to 2007 DAC Baseball Most
Valuable Player and 2007 NAIA Baseball All-American Honorable
Mention. Biagi, native of Colfax, WA, was selected to 2007
NAIA Region III Player of the Year. He is a two-time DAC
All-Conference selections and earned DAC and NAIA Region III Gold
Glove awards for his defensive performance.
