All students in the regental system must meet the minimum required score on each of the four tests.  Students who do not meet the minimum required score must remediate and retest in that area within one year.  During the 2004-2005, 13% of the DSU students did not meet the minimum score on one or more of the exams.  During Fall 2005, 15% of the DSU students did not meet the minimum required score. Approximately 10% of the students in the regental system failed to achieve an acceptable score on one or more of the exams during the past year.  Since DSU has a relatively small number of students testing, one or two students can affect the average scores and the pass rates.

During Fall 2005, 24 DSU first time testers did not meet the minimum required score on one or more of the exams.  Two students failed three exams, eight failed two exams, and fourteen failed one exam.  Six of the twenty-four students requiring remediation were not main campus students

(4 USDSU, 2 distance).

Proficiency Review Information

DSU faculty and staff held several proficiency review sessions on campus and USDSU held one review session.  On the main campus, 102 students (78% of main campus testers) attended the traditional review sessions, 79 (including 5 retesters) attended the grammar review sessions and 65 students attended both sessions.
