Guidelines for Review of Major-field Assessment

One component of the DSU Assessment Plan is major field assessment. The faculty of each college are ultimately responsible for setting and implementing the goals, outcomes, and criteria for assessment of each 2-year and 4-year major within their college. However, per DSU Policy 03-11-00, the Assessment Coordinating Committee is responsible for guiding the review process for major field assessment. According to the policy, early in the fall, each college will prepare a summary and interpretation of the major field assessment results for the previous academic year. Copies of this report should be shared with all college faculty and sent to the Assessment Office for use and review by the Assessment Coordinating Committee and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Please submit the following information to the Assessment Office:

_____A. Copy of goals, outcomes, and assessment criteria Include at least one goal on information technology literacy
_____B. Description of the assessment process (include copies of assessment tests, if applicable)
_____C. Description of the formal review process followed by faculty and the administration of the college.
_____D. Description of faculty involvement in review process
_____E. Summary and interpretation of assessment results
_____F. Action plan (e.g., changes proposed/initiated/completed as a result of the assessment process, including recommendations
             for changes in curriculum)
_____G. Information from the Assessment Plan Review process
____ H. If applicable, plan for implementation of revised assessment process
