INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS COMMITTEE

APRIL 7, 2004

3:00 p.m., Library Room 201

Handouts:

  • none

Assignment for this week:

  • Work on plans for SI 3-Technology/Facilities Infrastructure and SI 4-Academic Programs
  • Document the process used by your respective groups in developing the plans  (i.e., meetings held, email discussions, etc.)

Discussion Items:

Carrie indicated that we realize there will be measures and standards of performance that come forward during this process for which we do not currently collect data.  Her intent is to collect these areas and then collaborate with others on a new survey or other method of collecting the data.  Members were urged to keep this in mind as they are developing their measures/standards of performance.  If you feel the standard of performance you are using does not have a data source, indicate the measure on the table as “XXX DSU Survey” and if possible, develop a suggested question for the survey.

Cecelia did a quick assessment of where everyone stands with regard to completion of their respective tables.  She urged everyone to finalize the recruitment and retention plans and get those to Carrie asap, as we’d like to share those with the rest of the campus yet this spring.

Also discussed some specific departmental goals and whether they should be included under SI 3: Technology/Campus Infrastructure, or SI 5: Campus Management.

Peer Review:

Lead facilitators for the peer review were Deb Gearhart, Lynette Molstad-Gorder, Risë Smith, and Carrie Ahern.  Those present were assigned to the facilitators where the group provided feedback on the draft plans.

Next meeting:  Wednesday, April 14, 4:00 p.m. for discussion of SI 5: Campus Management and SI 6: Increased Resources.  Location TCB 111.
