Ed Harter Roast
A celebration of Coach Ed Harter was held during the DSU 2nd Annual Stag on November 16th. Ed Harter was the head men’s basketball coach for the Trojans for 28 years beginning in 1962. During his career, the Trojans had 204 wins. Over half of the wins that the Trojans have accumulated since 1964 have been under the leadership of Coach Harter.
Over 100 people purchased tickets for the roast. The proceeds from the event went towards the Ed Harter Endowment. The roast began with a presentation of the career of Coach Harter. Past players then told stories that, many years ago, Coach Harter made them promise they would never indulge. Coach Harter then had the opportunity to tell a few stories of his own.
The event was a success. Thank you to the businesses and sponsors that donated auction items, everyone who attended and helped with the event, and a special thanks to Coach Harter for being a good sport.
