Distance Delivery for Health Information Administration Education
The Health Information Management Programs are pleased to join other Dakota State University leaders in distance delivery of college educational opportunities. According to Program Director Dorine Bennett ('78 and '89), there has been a great deal of interest from health information managers around the nation seeking professional development and continued education via internet. For example, a limited survey performed recently had positive responses from over 400 potential students.
The faculty members have been planning and working for some time to prepare the Health Information Administration courses to be provided electronically. Instructors, Rose Goeden ('96) and Joyce Havlik ('90), will be using web pages, email, discussion groups and more traditional resources such as video tapes and reference handouts to teach classes beginning in the Fall of 1998.
