DSU's Fall 1997 Enrollment Figures
Remain Strong In Final Reports

Madison - Throughout the last year, Dakota State University has reported that it expected enrollment numbers to be high. To that end, Dakota State University is pleased to announce that enrollment figures for Fall 1997, according to figures recently tabulated at the university, are strong with the final headcount coming in at about 6% higher than 1996. Full-Time Equivalent credit hours are also up about 11%.

DSU's traditional freshman class is also at a record number of 250 students. That is 68 students more than in 1996, an increase of 37%. According to ACT/SAT figures, the freshman class is one of the most academically prepared that DSU has had in its history.

"We can attribute our success this year to the reputation DSU is gaining about its unique degree programs and high placement rates after graduation," said Mike Mutziger, Director of High School Relations. "Prospective students are learning early that they need to attend a school that provides them an education for the next century. DSU clearly does that, and our successful enrollment figures prove what we are saying."

DSU's Enrollment Services is already beginning their recruitment efforts for Fall 1998. Admissions staff head out in October across the midwest to college fairs and high schools to promote higher education and Dakota State University.
