Shoenrock, Class of '98, is new Alumni Director

   Wendy Shoenrock has accepted the position of Director of Alumni and Annual Giving. She began her duties in March. Wendy graduated from Howard High School in 1992 and from Dakota State University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. She was employed by the Baltic School District in Baltic, SD for three years, teaching special education for two of those years and in a combination room for one year.

Wendy lives in Madison with her husband Derrick and sons Mitchell, age 4 and Mason, age 5 months.

Her parents are Greg and Kathy Callies of Winfred and Gary Miller of Rapid City. Wendy’s family has a long history with Dakota State. She is the fourth generation to graduate from this institution. Her great grandmother, Ethel Miller, graduated from Eastern Normal. Her great uncle, Marv Miller, graduated from General Beadle. Her father, Gary Miller, graduated from Dakota State College; and finally Wendy herself graduated from Dakota State University. Wendy’s mother, Kathy Callies, was an employee of Dakota State for over twenty years and served part of those years and the registrar.

Wendy is completing her Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction from SDSU and has attended the TTL and DTL classes at Dakota State University during the summer.

Jona Schmidt, previously the Director of Alumni and Annual Giving, has moved into the role of Director of Planned and Major Gifts. She was in the alumni office for five years.
